A Family with Purpose

by

We have been saying that church is FAMILY. But the question that we should be asking ourselves today is why did God put us together as family? Did God have anything in mind when he planted us here in this place. Did God had anything in mind when He called us to be part of South Calgary Community Church ? Or you think we are here by accident? I am convinced that He had something in mind. He established us here with a purpose.

Look Back and Looking Forward

by

In the past few years God has developed South Calgary into a church of love and service. Along the way He has led us into times of confession and times of equipping each other. We believe that God has prepared us to be a church of outreach and discipleship. The question in this sermon is , “What is God wanting to do in your life?” Are you willing to commit to increasing the love you have for others, and the service you do for others? Are you ready to commit, as an individual, to being a person of outreach and discipleship?

I didn’t Sign Up For This

by

Beginning in November 2012, I experienced a difficult time of my life. At one point, in prayer to God I said “I didn’t sign up for this!” What I learnt through the experience is that I needed to trust God even when it didn’t make sense. This message looks at the experiences of Gideon, Moses and the Apostle Paul as we explore the idea of trusting God when it doesn’t make sense.

Pentecost: In with the New

by

The mission that Jesus gave the church is to “be witnesses”, to “make disciples” of Jesus Christ. As we celebrate Pentecost we are reminded that the Spirit of God has been given to us; the Spirit is in us. We will not presume to be able to fulfill the mission of Jesus on our own. As individuals and a church, we will rely on the power of God’s Spirit in us to be witnesses of Jesus.

Who Pushed Me In?

South Calgary Community Church is not the church it was 10 years ago, a lot has changed and much of the change has been difficult. There are two questions we should be asking: “what does God want from us today?” and “who is God creating us to become?”
